“It’s Showtime” Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the moment you have been waiting for. The Long Island Elite presents “The Greatest Giving on Earth” to be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Oheka Castle.
As always, this will not be your typical charity event. The Victorian Era circus of The Greatest Showman has been chosen as this year’s theme. Inspired by the imagination of P. T. Barnum, The Greatest Showman is an original musical that celebrates the birth of show business. It tells of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation, while embracing the logic that no one made a difference by being like everyone else.
Step right up and join us for the Greatest Show on Earth. Join us as we travel back in time to the turn of the century as a new form of entertainment breaks onto the scene. The curiosities and oddities of the world, usually hidden from public eye, come center stage and are celebrated. Performers of all disciplines showcase their talents in the ring, expressing their individuality through their art.
The evening will also include passed hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, a lavish display of food, Oheka Castle’s famous dessert room, live music, entertainment and prizes. Guests are encouraged to dress in the evening’s theme.

LIE Charity Partner of the Year: ACLD

All proceeds from this event will support and benefit the LIE 2018 Charity Partner—ACLD and their RewearAble program.
The mission of Adults & Children with Learning & Developmental Disabilities (ACLD) is to provide opportunities for children and adults with autism, learning and developmental disabilities to pursue enviable lives, promote their independence, and foster supportive relationships within the community.
The goal of RewearAble is to provide sustainable employment for adults with developmental disabilities. From the initial pick up, sorting, and packing of materials, people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities perform the tasks. RewearAble is fulfilling ACLD’s mission by providing people with special needs the opportunity to obtain steady, secure employment, where they can earn an income and live more independently.
RewearAble also helps the environment by keeping unwanted clothing and fabric material out of landfills and provides donors with a tax deduction. Roughly 85 percent of clothing material that could be recycled ends up in landfills across the nation.
